Northern Matchplay

The 2012 Golfdelaluz.com Northern Matchplay Golf Championship is a season-long knockout tournament for amateur golfers in the North of England.

	Arcos Gardens Golf Club

There are Individual and Betterball Pairs events split into three main regions;

• North East & Cumbria

• North West

• Yorkshire

The championship provides golfers will the opportunity to play competitive golf at different courses either free-of-charge or at significantly reduced green-fees. Entry is just £15 per person and £25 per pair.

The first round is played over 36 holes on a 'home & away' basis with a draw being made for home advantage in subsequent rounds. The aim is to win a maximum of just six matches to reach your regional final. 

The winners at each regional final qualify for our grand final. In 2012 this will take place at the stunning Arcos Gardens Golf Club & Country Estate near Cadiz in Spain.

Grand Final > 14th-18th October 2012

The five-day grand final will take place between Sunday 14th October & Thursday 18th October 2012 at Arcos Gardens Golf Club & Country Estate near Cadiz in Spain.

The venue has been hand selected because of the top class golf course and superb off-course facilities.

Grand finalists will enjoy villa accommodation, complimentary use of facilities including the superb practice complex as well as breakfast and an evening meal.

Three rounds of golf are included with one practice round and two competitive matches. The full itinerary is below.

Sunday 14th October 2012

• 6.00am: Meet at Manchester Airport

• 7.45am: Fly with Monarch Airlines to Malaga Airport

• 12.00pm Arrive & check-in at the Arcos Gardens Estate

• 1.00pm: Relax, unwind or use the practice facilities

• 7.00pm: Evening meal.

Monday 15th October 2012

• 8.00am: Breakfast

• 11.00am: Practice round plus informal competition

• 5.00pm: Draw for semi-final opponents

• 7.00pm: Evening meal

Tuesday 16th October 2012

• 8.00am: Breakfast

• 11.00am: Semi-final matches

• 7.00pm: Evening meal

Wednesday 17th October 2012

• 8.00am: Breakfast

• 11.00am: Finals & 3rd place play-off matches

• 8.00pm: Prize-giving presentation dinner

Thursday 18th October 2012

• 12.45pm: Depart from Malaga Airport

^{2. The Tournament Organiser reserves the right to change the grand final venue at any time without prior notice.}

^{3. In the event that play is not possible at any stage of the grand final the Tournament Organiser has the right to settle the competition in any way deemed fit.}

^{4. Grand finalists must hold a current and valid passport. They should also ensure they have the relevant travel insurance for their needs as The Northern Matchplay Golf Championship and their sponsors/partners accept no responsibility for loss or injury etc..}

^{5. Grand Finalists receive return flights from Manchester to Malaga, transfers to & from Arcos Gardens Golf Club & Country Estate and four nights villa accommodation. Breakfast, dinner & golf with buggies is also included.}

^{6. Grand finalists are responsible for any other expenses at the grand final including drinks and additional meals.}

^{7. Grand Finalist are responsible for making their travel arrangements to & from Manchester Airport.}

^{8. Should any entrant under the age of 18 years on 14th October 2012 qualify for the grand final they must be accompanied by either their Pairs partner (if aged over 18) or a fee paying guest who must take legal responsibility for them.}

^{9. Additional guests may be able to travel as special rates. These should be arranged in advance with the Tournament Organiser.}

^{10. The championship is approved by The R&A for the payment of expenses - Rule 4-2g RA/4/2012.}
