Eddie Boyd said "I have played this 27 hole layout a number of times. The condition is consistently good although ground conditions are fairly heavy. The course is mostly narrow and slightly quirky in places but still enjoyable."
Stuart Choppin said "As we experienced no rain during the trip the course was suprisingly wet. Could do with leaving the greass a tad longer on the fairways as experienced a lot of tight lies. Good variety of holes, plenty of acreage, although did manage to find the villas bordering the holes on a few shots."
Paul Heagren said "A good course but incredibly tight (almost impossibly so) especially front nine. But the 3rd nine was a little more open with some space and interesting holes."
Richard Denning said "Excellent course - highly recommended. Play it every time I'm in Spain"
Sarah Lyth said "I recommend the free demonstation lesson at Islantilla Golf Course for beginners - it was excellent and gave me a taster which I can't wait to follow up with some lessons now I'm back home!"
Ian Gibson said "unusual gem of a course. The course is frankly too difficult for high handicappers and some ladies but still a great challenge for those blessed with a swing."
John Davidson said "A challenging course which demands good course management."
Norman Keech said "I took a party of 16 players for 7 days, 5 rounds of golf, in May, and we all enjoyed the course. The facilities were first class, and the course was in excellent condition, except for the last day when we played holes 19 to 27 and in our opinion the 9 holes were brought into play too early, not in the same condition of the other 18. Apart from this it was a very good holiday.

said "Very enjoyable as always"Edwin Bussey
said "I had visited before so knew what to expect. This time I was in a party of 43 who played an event over 3 days. The average Stableford score (and I will not divulge what it was!!!) demonstrated just how difficult it was. The lowest single figure handicap player won the whole 3 day event - cream rising to the top!!Paul Collinson
said: "Just having returned from Islantilla, after playing 5 rounds, only got to play green and blue courses due to course maintainance.Found the green quite easy, but what a shock on the blue, three very challenging holes that can totally destroy your card.On the whole a very pleasant and peacefull golf holiday, would recommend to anyone, maybe split golf and play a couple of rounds at el rompido, will certainlly be going back."Ilona Collinson
said: "Only 18 holes out of the 27 were open which was a bit disappointing. However, the courses were quite challenging and we would definitely go back."Cyril P. Ward
said "Overall we thought the course was too difficult for holiday golfers most of whom were double figure handicappers."Ronald J. Egan
said "An excellent well run golf course with good eating facilities and friendly staff. We played early in the mornings which avoided any pressure from marshals etc."Mick Dulieu
said: "We played all three 18 hole combinations and found them all to be exellent, with the condition & staff also very good.We will be returning this year with a larger number of players"David Neilson
said: "Housing development intrudes on the golf course surroundings and too much distance between the greens to tee area of next hole for senior golfers (ok with buggy) fairways excellent, some very difficult par 5 holes but a challenge. very International selection of golfers but no really undue slow play like in other parts of the Spanish Costas"J.Terry
said "27 holes. Red,Blue,Yellow. Depending on colour you play the 1st or 10th is a really difficult par 5. Requires 2 nice shots and a blind 3rd shot to small green surronded by trees, scrubland and water hazards. A real card wrecker. The course is well kept with lots of intereting and tricky holes."I Gibson
said: "10th hole only weakness"

One of the advantages of having 27 holes of golf at your disposal, as at Islantilla Golf Club, is that when maintenance work is scheduled 18 holes are always in play as it is only necessary to close 9 holes at any time, thus the 18 holes in play are always in good condition. The 2009 maintenance schedule is as follows:
