ROBERT BARNES said "GREAT BUT DIFFICULT COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION ESPECIALLY THE GREENS,TAKE PLENTY OF GOLF BALLS.EASY TO WALK BUT MAYBE THE FAIRWAYS ARE A BIT TIGHT FOR RELAXED HOLIDAY GOLF BUT STILL ENJOYED PLAYING IT AGAIN.THE CLUBHOUSE IS GREAT WITH FRIENDLY STAFF AND VERY REASONABLY PRICED.WE EVEN WATCH A BOWLS MATCH THANKS TO ALL"

Mrs Maureen Rimmer said "We have played this course many times over the last 6 or 7 years and never get tired of it. It's harder than it looks! Bunkers in front of the greens add to the difficulty, accurate driving on many holes e.g. the 2nd is essential.  We love this course. Easy walking but not an easy course to play - especially holes 2, 3 and 4! Bunkers in front of many of the greens make getting on in 2 very difficult. I think you need to play it more than once to appreciate it."

Andrew Chilton said: "On our trips abroad we have been fortunate to play good quality golf courses and Isla Canela is no exception. The layout was most interesting with each hole giving us handicap golfers plenty to think about. The condition of fairways and greens was superb.
Memorable holes are 2nd and 17th. Would recommend this location - excellent!!"

Frank Walsh said: "We played it in early Jan 2007. We journeyed from Portugal to sample a Spanish course that was quite reasonably priced. We enjoyed the course and area and it helped to set our minds on possibly buying somewhere near the Spanish/Portuguese border,(see my comments at Castro Marim golf) We were pleasantly surprised by the golf and in particular by Ayamonte, to which we returned during the visit when we bought at Castro Marim. We strongly recommend this area for golf,food, beaches, pleasant and polite people, and a climate that allows you to play golf all year round. You won't be disappointed!"
